Inside her Hamburg apartment, creativity meets calm in equal measure. As the founder of GJOOPY, a social media marketing agency built on authenticity and aesthetics, Nicole Clairs transforms her living space into both a sanctuary and a creative studio. She reflects on intuition, aesthetics, and the quiet power of creating beauty from within one’s own world.

Nicole, your home in Hamburg feels like an extension of yourself. Did you create this space more as a workspace for your creative projects or as a zone to recharge your energy?

Actually, for both. My home in Hamburg feels like an extension of who I am – calm, intentional, yet full of creative energy. When I first moved here, everything was new – the city, the people, the rhythm. I didn’t know anyone, but what made it all feel magical was my apartment. It became my safe space in the midst of all that change. It’s also where GJOOPY, my social media marketing agency, was born – where the first ideas came to life and where my creative routine truly began.

What does “aesthetic living” mean to you? How does aesthetics influence your daily mood and creativity?

Aesthetic living, for me, is a form of mindfulness. It’s not about striving for a “perfect” home – it’s about creating an atmosphere that feels calm, intentional, and inspiring. When my surroundings are organised, my thoughts are too. Clean lines, natural light, and balanced energy — those small details shape how I create, think, and feel. My home isn’t just where I live; it’s an environment that keeps me centred, grounded, and in creative flow.

Your latest shoot took place right here, in your Hamburg apartment. How did this space influence the atmosphere and outcome of the shoot? Did your home help you express something new through the visuals?

The latest shoot in my apartment was something truly special. It was captured by Meryl Kureekal, one of my closest friends and a photographer based in Zürich, Switzerland. We met during our studies years ago and have been creatively connected ever since. She’s also part of GJOOPY, leading our photo and video productions. Shooting with her felt effortless — there’s so much trust between us. Creating in my own space, with someone who knows me so well, brought out a completely natural, genuine energy.

How do you decide which brands to collaborate with? Do you have an internal “checklist” to feel whether a brand aligns with your energy?

When choosing which brands to collaborate with, I always listen to my intuition. I ask myself: does this brand’s energy align with mine? Do their values reflect what I stand for — both as a creator and as an entrepreneur? I only say yes when it feels like a genuine connection. Authenticity is everything to me, and if the collaboration doesn’t feel aligned, I’d rather wait for the right one.

Every home tells a story. If you had to choose three objects in your apartment that mean the most to you, what would they be and what stories do they carry? If I had to choose three objects that mean the most to me, I’d start with my mirror — I love how it completely transforms the space. A large mirror doesn’t just make a room brighter or larger; it adds a sense of openness and lightness. (And yes, I take a lot of mirror selfies — it’s part of my everyday ritual and a playful way of connecting with my space.)

Next, my camera. I got my first one — a Canon DSLR D1500 — when I was thirteen, and I’ve been creating ever since. I love being behind the camera just as much as in front of it — capturing people, objects, and fleeting moments that tell a story. Photography taught me to notice beauty in details and to translate emotion into visuals.

And finally, my music box — I honestly don’t know what I’d do without it! I play it every morning and dance before I start working. It’s my ritual for joy and movement; it sets the tone for the day and reminds me that creativity grows from energy, presence, and playfulness.
