What was your first impression of Venice and how did it inspire your fashion choices during your visit?
The first time I saw Venice, I was extremely fascinated by its elegance, charm, and mystery, which is a mix of sensuality and timeless royalty that inspired me to create a collection that represents its class.
How did you incorporate Venetian culture and architecture into your fashion and styling choices while exploring the city?
I chose clothes that were in line with the art, history, and palpable rich past of this wonderful city.
What advice would you give to someone who is looking to create a fashion-forward travel wardrobe for a trip to Venice?
I would recommend comfortable shoes, even low heels, so that you can easily navigate the streets of the city. Vintage and romantic clothing combined with a positive mood and a beautiful smile are ideal because Venice is one of the most romantic cities that exist, and to fully grasp its essence, it is good to have the right positive attitude.
Were there any particular designers or brands that you felt were particularly well-suited to the Venetian aesthetic and atmosphere?
Dolce and Gabbana, the brand from which I take my greatest inspiration, created a collection inspired by Venice in 2021. Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce dived into a cultural reinterpretation, paying homage to the lagoon city and its craftsmanship through the lens of their heritage. The collection includes sophisticated silks, velvets, brocades, and details in Murano glass and crystals, combined with embroideries and precious fabrics, mixed to perfection, creating a real synaesthetic harmony. The unmistakable architecture of Venice and the decorations on the floors of San Marco were reflected in the collection, punctuated by endless waterfalls of satin, reflecting the contours of the city like its canals. To crown this memorable picture, the unexpected touch of nature, a few drops of rain followed by a huge rainbow. As a stylist, I can only be extremely enthusiastic to see how much passion they have transmitted for Venice and their work. However, wandering around the city, you can find many shops with an all-Venetian style. I recommend getting lost in Venice between alleys and music and being overwhelmed by it in all its grandeur.
